The hijackers took control of the plane at 8:30 local time (6.30 UK time) shortly after the EgyptAir flight had taken off from Alexandria Airport
An EgyptAir plane has been hijacked flying from Alexandria to Cairo and forced to land in Cyprus, airline and Cypriot officials have said. AP reports Cypriot officials saying they believe there is a bomb on board the plane, which has landed at Larnaka airport.
